TOP TIPS: Meals Made Easy Icon small
  • I recommend using black garlic oil as it adds a delicious balsamic flavour to the salad.
  • Use a wide variety of different sized and coloured tomatoes to ensure you have a visually appealing salad.
  • Make the dressing well ahead of time (day before) to enable the flavours to infuse.
Alternative: Experiment with horseradish cream until you find the correct amount of pungent peppery flavour you desire. Alternatively you can use grated horseradish which will give a much stronger flavour. Use it sparingly as it will add a real kick to your salad.
Serve with flat salad servers (sometimes called a French sauce spoon) so your diners can scoop up some of the delicious yoghurt dressing.

Can you eat black garlic raw?

Yes, you can eat black garlic raw.
Black garlic is a fermented form of regular garlic that has undergone a slow fermentation process under controlled temperature and humidity. Many people enjoy peeled black garlic cloves in its raw form, using it as a unique and flavourful addition to salads, spreads, or as a topping for crackers.

Black Garlic’s sweet and mellow taste makes it more palatable than raw, white garlic, which has a strong, pungent flavour. Additionally, thanks to its unique flavour profile, black garlic can be used in various culinary applications, such as spreads, dressings, or condiments.
