Mulled Wine Spices Kit
Directions: Heat spice bag with your choice of wine( try not to boil). Slow Cooker or Stove (large pot, small burner, lid on).
Step 1. Empty pouch contents (100g) into a large saucepan.
Step 2. Add 2-3 bottles of wine, heat for 1 – 2 hours on med to high heat.
Step 3. Remove lid and serve.
Quick Tip. Reducing the volume by 10 – 20% (heating with the lid off) will produce a thicker, sweeter & spicier mulled wine. Adding port, sherry, brandy or spirits according to taste will increase the alcohol content and warming effect.
Note * Boiling will reduce the alcohol content.
** Depending on your choice of wine, you may wish to add additional water, sugar or juice.
*** You can add additional spice from your pantry to customize our mulled wine recipe.
Like it sweeter? Try using a sweet wine or adding sugar / Juice as required.
Like it stronger? Remove the lid, whilst heating.
Like it warmer? Add a splash of port, brandy or spirits after heating.
Like it for Kids? Brew in the fridge for 12-24 hrs with your choice of juice.
Serving Recommendation. Try mixing a sweet wine (Lambrusco or Dolce Rosso) with a dry wine (Shiraz, Cab Sav or Merlot). This will reduce the mouth-puckering effect of the wines tannins & increase the sweetness, requiring less additional sugar.
Storage: Brewed mulled wine spice can be stored in the fridge for up to a week then reheated and enjoyed in moderation. Store packet in a cool, dark & dry place. Use half recipe for 50g packet.
